I got a problem people, I got the 3.8 v6 and when I drive the car just stops running and i have to throw it in neutral or park to restart it and sometimes it acts like it dont want to but then cranks over. It usually happens when i try in put my foot in it or doing a fast turn so any suggestions would definately help... I already did an alternator check and its fine, im thinking its my dist. fouling out, but I dont want to start tearing my motor down without a few more suggestions or even have it be something less.... Anyone else had this problem and give me a few pointers or even where to begin to look for a solution. Thanks in advance.

I would check the dist. first make sure it is getting the proper volts. then check you fuel system make sure it is not flooding out when you floor. Get the manual it will show you how to test it.

yea i got it ordered through amazon jus waiting for it to get here in a few days so I can go through all of the motor and get it right... But was just wondering what I could do to try in figure it out early.

I bet it's your carburetor

Even with it being a fuel injected throttle body you think it could be in that huh??? I dont know cause some days it doesnt die and others it will, I jus got my book today so imma look therough it and see if has any suggestions...

not sure if you have this sorted out yet,but these distributors have a pick up coil in the center 2 wires that plug into the dist modual must remove the cap to see these use a small screwdriver and gently tug on these wires at the coil end they may be broken or remove the vaccum line to the dist as a quick check if the engine doest cut out it will be the pick coil confirm with the prev check

Thanks oldcartech, I will be looking into that tomorrow I wanted to today but I just got off from working a 14hr day (boiler blew up and caught fire at the contruction site) So thanks to my phone I can still get online but unfortunatley the car was home snuggled in the garage... So after work I will most def. get on all the suggestions I've been told to look into... Im in the market for a 2in cowl hood any suggestions on where to get one that is straight and a decent price? Also this friday Im going over to a friends house to learn how to do custom interior he's been doing it for years as a side hustle and has done alot of show cars out here in denver, so he said he would show me alot of tricks to the trade cause hes getting old and wants to pass the buck to someone who really wants to learn, So hopefully soon I will be doing custom and classic interior's, wish me luck fellas I need to post pics up of my baby.... I will soon.

Let me know if that helps and good luck with the interior gig great cash in that racket a bud of mine is the only guy around here he good and always busy

Thanks in advance... OIh and I found out what was wrong with the damn thing, it was a couple vaccum lines were disconected along with my choke was sticking....
