I may end up donating many of my mags to the library. They sell them at their bi-annual book sales, and the proceeds go to help the library system in my town. A good cause indeed.
A friend of mine had donated a lot of his old Hot Rods to the VA hospital. In either case, I would remove, or blackout my name and address.

Years back, I got rid of a lot of Hot Rod, Car Craft, Hot VW's, etc. from the '70's and '80's. Years prior to that I purged many old mags from the '60's. Hot Rod, Car Craft, Rod & Custom, Hot Boat. Some were the small page editions, which were really cool and not easy to come by.

Brian, I don't remember Auto Buff.

I've probably got close to 1000 issues of magazines in boxes in my basement that have collected over the last 30 years. Car Craft, Hot Rod, Super Chevy, Cars and Parts, Muscle Car Review, etc. Used to have 4 or 5 yearly subscriptions now down to only one (Hemmings Muscle Machines). I started to recycle a box a week and then a friend of mine made a suggestion about bringing a box or two to a carshow with me and putting them on a table in front of my car. I put a sign on them saying "FREE. Take one, two, or the whole box!" and most of them are gone by the end of the show. The last show I attended I had a father and his 10-year old son take half a box. The son was really into the cars and his eyes were lit up like it was Christmas when he saw he could take as many of the free magazines as he wanted. He left me with two arms full and the biggest smile on his face. That's what it's all about- getting the next generation interested in the hobby. I can hardly wait until May (when the carshows start up again here in Mass) and I can maybe put another smile on some other young enthusiast's face.

Autobuff, had a short run...something like 2 years as I recall

Gave almost all of my old magazines from the mid 70s through about the 90s a few years back to a young guy that was interested.

Then I started buying Musclecar Review, which I also gave him after I realized I was never going to be able to spend that kind of dough to get back in the musclecar game.
