here's a pm I got from gutlessjim yesterday. I told him he needed to post on the forms and come clean....since he hasn't

"I had two people pay me for them, I sent them out to the first person that payed me today and also refunded the second person."

I told him that was bs cause shotgun and someone else had paid him weeks ago...

I don't understand it, the guy is a thief and he is still allowed on this site??? Why isn't he banned by the administrator?
Because I'm not even going to start getting involved in disputes between other people? Not to be a dick but I don't even want to go down that road. We're all adults. Glad it all worked out (I think) in the end.

Maybe I need a disclaimer in the FS/Wanted sections? A sticky "Good/Bad trader" thread? I'll still look at adding a "rep" mod to the site, but its not priority ATM.

Good idea

I will also add in the defense of the Administrator that the internet is very much a "Wild West" sort of place and it is incumbent on each individual to watch out for themselves. This site is NOT an E-Commerce site like E-Bay, or Amazon and anything that gets set up by it's members is between them and has nothing to do with the site's owner. I am sorry to see that someone got scammed on this site, but that happens a lot online. It's part of the reason I do not like getting involved in transactions involving shipping with private individuals. I do it on E-Bay, but on there at least I have some idea of how the seller acts, and I can get a dispute dealt with by using their dispute process. Remember that this site does not have a staff to take care of this sort of stuff. There is one Administrator/owner, and a few volunteer moderators (like me) who try to keep things clean and are in no way financially compensated for their time. If there is a real problem, we try our best to deal with it. Just remember that the site is no more to blame for bad transactions than the post office is for any dealings you have through the mail.

Having some sort of feedback thread is not a bad idea. At least it will let people know a history of the person/s involved in the transaction before getting into any agreement. Also, as much as some don't like paypal, it does offer protection for the buyer in case something like this happens. Is it too much to ask for people to just be honest, stand up individuals when dealing in buying/selling goods to others?

   You'd be surprised!

what bothers me is people like cutlessjim causes problems with the new guy or gal on the block who legitimately has something to sell but if they have no history then many will not take the chance...

I think its a little late now to defend himself, but some freebies of somesort would be a good start.

Being one of the people that got scammed by this guy, I think that idea of a good guy/bad guy section is a great idea. I can see if this guy made a mistake and promised two people the same part, but this guy screwed three different people on different parts and won't respond to any attempts to reach him. Paypal fixed the problem and now everybody on this site at least know's what kind of hand job this guy really is...
