I found a nice one at a good price. its a turbo, manual transmission, stick shift, with nice orange paint and leather seats. does anyone have any opinions or knowledge about these cars. its by no means the the TT 2+2 from the 90's but the turbo 3.0 from the 80's.

Well, its no Supra....but Im biased. They are a good car, but they are a little bit of a pain in the arse to work on and like my Supra parts are hard to find and are super expensive. Also, the aftermarket, like for my Supra, doesnt really offer a whole lot, as they do for the more popular years of these cars. I like the look of the older 300zxs and some of them even have the courtesy voice option which has a sultry female computer voice that tells you when the door is open, key is left in ignition, etc etc. Id say go for it if its in good mechanical shape and have fun with it.

eh its nice, but its not that nice. Im wanting to find some kinda sports car, with stick shift and a turbo 4 or 6 cyl. preferably RWD, kinda small, probably an import but that will be my colledge car, and im only a junior in h/s right now. the 300zx is nice, but i think id rather find a TT 93' or something lol. id like a rx-7, 300zx, slivia, 240sx, older supra turbo, or something like that. Im gunna keep the regal as long as i can though, I just got this whole 2000 Chevorlet Malibu thats kinda weighing down finding a "cool" daily driver.lol dont get me wrong i love my bu' its a comfortable car but its not "cool" and definatly not fast.

If I may give you a little advice. Unless you have a really good paying job, I would stay away from Supras, 300z, and RX7s. Not trying to discourage you or belittle you in any way. The only way I would say to get one is like I said, if its in good to great mechanical shape. For instance, my Supra, normal replacement parts are extremely expensive and the availability of any of them locally is scarce. Im sure you can find something that would be a cool daily driver. And if you want, Ill keep my eyes out for an late 80s early 90s Supra or Z or RX7. Just a little advice from experience. 😀

what would you suggest then? im really tired of fwd cars and big cars, otherwise id love to get a grand prix gtp which happens to be both lol, im kinda a big guy so i dont want a midget car either. I may end up getting a mustang gt, but i love imports just as much as i do domestics. the cheaper the better really lol what about a sbc in any of the three i meantioned?

I had a 1987 Nissan D21 pick-up. It is pretty much the same motor as the 300zx except the 300zx is a turbo. I had a small water pump hose burst on me and I went to about 7 different car places to find that hose. I ended up at the last store and the guy said the part was not available for the truck but had to be cross referenced to the 300zx turbo, sure as sh*t it fit.

I will tell you it was a pain in the *ss to put it in because of where it was. These Nissan's are very expensive and hard to work on but if you do not have any problems they run forever. My truck had 380,000 miles on it if I remember correctly. Then one night after work some 16 year old girl in her mothers brand new expedition decided to do a U-turn right in front of me on the road, she was found 100% at fault, this was the result.

Look for a 1986-1988 Pontiac Fiero with a V-6. There is so much you can do to them cars. Also if you ever get a lot of money you can yank the engine and put in a corvette engine in it. Costs about $4,000 for the kit.

I am a Fiero fanatic so I will defend them all the time, great cars in my opinion and also they had a 5 star crash safety they are as safe as a volvo of that era. I know you said your a big guy, just though I would give some ideas.

A friend of mines dad had an '80's 300ZX turbo convert, and had a ton of electrical issues with it, that the local shops, and even the Nissan dealer had a very hard time figuring out.

A 240sx with a sbc is kind of a interesting and inexpensive buy. You can find early 90s 240sx's for little or nothing.

ehhhh... im having second doubts on that, i just want a DD. ill have the regal to hot rod. see if i was gunna do a motor swap again it would be a Ls7 or ls-1 with a s/c on it lol

im not looking to kill myself just have a little bit of balls ya know? lol
gotta be light and be able to drift a little 😉
