hmmm... so ill either look for a (custom turboed) 240 sx, find a 240 and do the turbo work myself (may be difficult because of colledge), or find a cheap g35 or 350z, or i was kinda thinking a turbo celica.

Anyone know anything about the turbo celicas?
handling compared to 240sx?

damn there are some damn nice 240sx's on ebay with 250hp and wide body kits and c/f hoods for less than 5g....

I used to have an 85 Normally aspirated 300zx. It was a really nice car to drive and was reliable. If you consider buying check to see if the timing belt has been changed. They are rubber and it went on mine and I had to get the top half of the engine rebuilt.

in the states you are limited because i think you have a rule out there that you cant drive right hand drives, no? the 90-93 celicas did come with all wheel drive and the 3sgte motor, same as the MR2 but they only came like that from japan. theyre all over the place here. what you could do is buy the all wheel drive celica and swap a 3sgte in it. the USDM 3sgte's are 200HP factory turboed and the 3rd gen 3sgte's i believe are 240hp so its a decent base and not hard to get 300 hp out of those. you have a lot of options.

We did get AWD Celica's here, they were called the Celica All Trac. Also, he lives in Florida where you can drive almost anything so long as the cops don't get too suspicious. There is thankfully no vehicle inspection of any kind in this state, which is part of the reason I continue to live here (it sure isn't the culture!). For a 240sx, have you looked at Tampa Racing's for sale section? There are a lot of drift guys on there who have 240's or AE 86's. If nothing else it may be a good place to learn some tech stuff from.

tampa racing? is that a website/forum? ill look into it, im not in any rush like i said, i have a year and a half before i go to colledge plus i need to make sure i get scholarships first. (thats the trade off with my dad, i get free college, he buys me car lol)

i know you guys have the all-trac but it didnt come with the 3sgte. i would definitely go with an all trac with a swapped 3sgte...not the cheapest around, but its definitely fun to drive.

awd turbo celica or 240 sx turbo drift setup

If you are looking at a 300ZX, consider a 1990 thru 1996. I like to call them a poor man's Supra. They are sex on wheels and still look modern by today's standards. N/A cars with average miles are in the $5000 to $8000 range, TT cars are a lot more of course.

And you're right, you can probably buy an early G35 coupe in a couple years or sooner for under $8000 as they continue to depreciate.

been watching the 300zx's on ebay, they are going for 5-6, ang g35s are still 12,000
