I have the long 24 inch thrust glasspacks on my cutlass with 350 olds. they sound really good and really aren't loud at all, just good sound.

I've ran them on all kinds of stuff. My last two Malibus and Caprice had them, well they were Dynomax bullets but pretty much the same thing. They exited out the side on front of the tires(eventually added tailpipes on my current Malibu). I liked how loud it was but my boy was afraid to get in the car so switched to Magnaflows to tame it down.
in your opinion would you rather go with cherry bombs or the dynomax again for a 305 h.o.?

If you want loud, i'd get the shorter Dynomax Bullets.

Here's a completely stock 305 (non HO) with glasspacks:
(2 1/4" pipe I believe)

That was when they were fairly new. That annoying pop/crackle sound was not around when driving.

Same pipes behind a 400+HP 355:

You can't hear it in this video, but it crackles and pops like a farm truck now 🙁

both of those sound pretty nice, i think im gonna end up getting the 12inch long cherry bombs bec thats the only ones i see that have a 2.5inch diameter

You can find 18'" and longer glass packs in the 2.25 inch size, which will work fine on your system. The longer glass pack has a nice deep sound and less pop and crackle that give them a bad rep. True duals w/out X or H pipes and cherry bomb glass packs sound great IMO....Ive never heard a system with glass packs and a cross pipe.

Another muffler to consider are Chambered Powersticks or Turbo Tubes. That's what I'm planning to have installed later this year.

Here's a video I found of a stock 305 with them:

Here's what I hope mine sounds like when I'm done:

now should i get a 2.25in. if i have a 2.5in. exhaust?

I really like the sound of Flowmasters, but the interior drone has gotten to be a bit much for me. I needed a cheap quick system to put on the Cutlass and ended up using Thrush Turbos, I'm very happy with them. No drone, no raspiness, just nice and deep. If you have a 2 1/2" exhaust system, I'd use 2 1/2" mufflers.
