Everything I’ve read, G-Bodies weigh between 3,300-3,600 stock. Even assuming it’s larded up with a bunch more junk, should be well under 4,500 lbs. Maybe with 4 passengers and a full trunk.

American Racing would know what will work or not work on your car.

If they have the best price then tell them you are having a custom carbon fiber body made that will put you well under the load rating.

Why is it any of their business? Seems pretty dumb they’re turning away a sale for an arbitrary reason. Maybe he’s looking at GVWR vs curb weight. A lot of people confuse the two.
