Another rthing that I just cam across is this crate engine, the valves are not set, took a valve cover off to see and the first valve, tight,#2 lose,#3 lose, that's just on the one side so I think this could be my vibration problem , will update when valves are adjusted :wtf:

I'm not sure how you are checking your valves but there will always be some loose and tight ones on each side depending if they are on the lobe or the base circle of the cam.
What exactly did you have the mechanic do for you besides set timing?
Also who did you get this crate engine from and where did you get the 600 horse figure(as in your signature)? I would say closer to 450 with that parts list.
when I say lose I mean really lose, I know some will be on the slack side, for the horse power end of it the guy I bought it from gave me that number, I agree with you on the number, as what I got the mechanic to do I had him install a true dual cross member and 2.5 inch magna flow exhaust and set the timing.

I cant answer that as I do not know

who did you buy the engine from?....I hope it came with a warranty

So you bought the 383 from a guy that claimed it had 600 horsepower did he ever run it or was it completely brand new?
Do you know who built it or who he bought it from?
Who installed the 383 in your car?
If it was brand new and never run who did the break in proceedure for the engine once it was running?

Is it a solid or hydraulic cam?
With a solid lifter they will be somewhat loose.
Do you have the cam card or the model # of the crane cam?

I do have the cam card, will have to get back to you with that

It could also be too much timing. It ran fine then they set the timing and now it shakes?....Could be ignition break up or spark knock. I would start there first. Check the timing.
