My parents got me a new windshield for my birthday. Miles better than the stock one I cut down.

This one is a 14.5” with 2” “recurve” from clear view shields. Super nice quality, way thicker and sturdier than the stock one.

Unfortunately I had to roll the handlebars back about 1/4” of an inch to fit the new windshield. This put the them back into an uncomfortable position, so i’m currently shopping for alternatives.

I painted the timing cover, letters in the air cleaner, and primary inspection cover. I kinda like it, I think it adds some contrast. I’m still searching for the matching derby cover.

Haven't done a whole lot to the bike. Broke a throttle cable while I was out with my dad. So he rode it with the throttle cable looped in his hand to limp us home lol. I found a used set just to get me by for now. Also found the performance machine grips I've been wanting for $10!

As well as this derby cover that was proving to be tough to track down. This was the only one I had even found for sale. So I jumped on it. Painted to match my timing cover and primary inspection cover.

Not much progress to report. I'm back at school, so I get the riding itch pretty much every day. A local dealer here was having a demo day, so you know I had to jump on that.

First up was a 2019 Road King, 114 ci. Pretty similar to my dad's 2010 Road Glide, but much smoother and torquier. Really confidence inspiring. I realized that the 12" apes on my bike really make riding with no windshield suck. Even at 60mph I didn't really even have to lean into the wind on this one.

Next up was a 2019 FXDR (softail) 114 ci. This bike blew me away. I had an ear to ear grin the whole time. Riding position was a little weird at first, but I got used to it pretty quick. This would make the perfect second bike!

The FXDR gave me the itch for better everything on my bike. 2-1 pipe, better handlebars, monotube fork inserts, the whole 9. Although I love the look, I didn't think I'd miss the lean angle when I lowered my bike. But I'm starting to. I think I need some taller boots.

I had some kind of low flying pterodactyl bug hit my truck windshield the other day that made an 8” diameter splatter. First thing I thought of was that would have been fun back during my riding days.

years ago, I hit one of those huge mothra type moths in my dad's old box gmc pickup, doing about 65. sounded like a line drive baseball had hit the winshield... left a splatter bad enough, I had to pull over and clean most of the guts off, just so the wipers wouldn't smear away the vision... I remember thinking I was glad I wasn't on a bike when that happened....

cutty, that bike is looking beautiful! those newer harley's are nice, but to me, somethin about a classic look always brings me back!
