People like to think that they can recoup their labour costs, which - for all intents and purposes - are sunk.
The fact that I can get a reproduction "GTO" badge for my wagon for a few bucks is a game changer.
People dream of having a collection of cars like Jay Leno, but Jay Leno made about $20 Million/year and still spends a $ Million or so/year on his cars, so its an expensive hassle. I no longer dream of expensive hassles.
You have a GTO wagon?.....that must be really rare...😀
I have learned over the years that add up everything you spent & try to figure the labor cost if possible, then divide by 3. That would be what you'll get out of you ride when you sell it. You always hear "I have $XXXX into it, paid $XXXX for the car, did all this work, so I won't let it go for less than $XXXX." I accept my losses on any personally owned projects. If it was for outright resell, I would make sure I have proof of cost & look into a tax ID number so I don't pay taxes on what it needs. But I'm not that lucky (or unlucky) enough to do this for resell.People like to think that they can recoup their labour costs, which - for all intents and purposes - are sunk.

Absolutely they would they have been making them for Tri-5's and others when you could buy a nice one for 5k.
I swear, you must live in the most economically depressed area in the country, since the cars you have had for sale are real buys given their cleanliness and price.
