I forgot to take a measurement today so hopefully someone can help me out so and save me a trip tomorrow. I'm putting the battery in the trunk so how long of a cable do I need to go out of the trunk and along the frame to the engine compartment on the wheel-well where I have my remote solenoid...

Thanks

I went from passenger rear to driver's front and used about 17-18 feet for the +.

GP, I split the negative three ways: grounded the body, the frame and I ran a third (2 gauge or so) through the framerail up to the crossmember and over to the tailshaft of the transmission

Thanks, I'll pick up a 25 ft roll tomorrow. I'm was going to ground it similar to what you did. It seems the engineers on these cars didn't think a ground was that important...

I'm sure you'll be spot on.

As for GM engineers, something I finally figured out was they never grounded the frame, only the body on our cars. The engine was usually grounded to the firewall steel. I tied the frame and body together (electrically) and ground stuff to both. This pic was taken sort of underneath where my back seat is.

you're right about the frame cause the body sits on rubber. The only factory ground I can think of to the frame is through the brake lines to the proportioning valve
