MALIBU I’m about to purchase the best battery 🪫 in the world

I'm not sold. The OE AGM in the wife's jeep didn't go 3 years. I told her to stop using the autolamp/delay...battery killers IMO.

I have a 6 year old redtop Optima in my coupe, but I've heard a lot of drama about them.

A few years back when I had my diesel truck, the Motorcraft batteries had a 100 month warranty...don't know if that's still the case
I think optima sold at some point, and their quality went down. I got 8 years out of my old yellow top in my daily.

If you happen to be a member of Costco, they have a solid warranty on their Interstate batteries. The pair in my F350 I bought in 2017 still crank strongly, although I disconnect them when the truck sits for a while.

I had a conventional Type 24 that did not stay charged in our Pilot, and asked to replace it. Zero cross-examination when I brought it back after only 2 years. I paid $45 prorated for a brand new one, and the replacement is an AGM type.

Not the cheapest price, but Costco stands behind their products.

I can say the one energizer battery I had was 11 years old and was still working when I sold the car used to be at Sam's

yeah, but it's a Jeep
the Optima quality seems to have fallen off the last few years
100 month? prolly pro-rated so not worth the effort
Renegade...hardly even really a Jeep...more of a FIAT

Better 100 month prorate than 36 IMO. Also, if they're willing to go that long, likely better quality, no?

12 yo OEM Delco in the 2013 ZL1. Been on a battery maintainer (Battery Tender junior) since the day I got it home from the stealership. 11 yo old-school (before the sell-off) Sears Die Hard AGM in the 2010 Camaro. It's been on a BTJr. since day 1. Both crank right up.

Just changed out a 4-year Interstate lead acid in the 2012 Ford Focus that finally died. Been in there for 7+ years. Didn't get a lot of Absolutely no battery tender ever. Interstate has proven itself.

I believe in using good batteries, and if you use a good battery maintainer on top of that, you'll be much happier.

not likely. no doubt it will cost you more, and the way they pro-rate it (or at least the way they used to) means you still lose money. you lose the majority of the value in the first 3 yrs and then the balance pro-rates over the remaining months. you might take a look around for a "Lifetime" battery at Costco or someplace. I've actually seen these on a few cars that came in. Big sticker plastered on the side. Eventually the battery did die but IIRC they lasted a good while longer.
reality? I think you're still better off with a charger/maintainer and an AGM
