what would be the best aftermarket exhaust to run on my 84 regal , its got a 327 with a cam, right now its running 2" with headers and hollowed out cats and glasspacks, it is too loud , what would be the best bet too quiet it up a bit and not sacrifice performance?

You could grab a header back dual exhaust kit from summit with their turbo mufflers....2 1/2 pipe and they sound pretty good... 8)

you won't get any quieter than a 2" tube system. Most after market systems are 2.5" and larger...
I believe the glasspacks are the contributing factor to the loudness. Some nice muflers will quiet the system down.

Since you are using 2" tubes, I suggest going to a wrecker and picking up some Ford Crown Victoria muflers off a retired cop car. I've seen these used on 2" exhaust tubes behind mild engines, and they are quiet for calm cruising speeds, and have a nice rumble when you step on it.

having the exhaust dump infront of rear wheels also increases noise, and if this is the case, I suggest adding tail pipes.

Any decent turbo style muffler will sound good, better than glass packs without the cackle when you decelerate.
