What is the best set of SBO heads??

Just wondering what to keep my eyes peeled for. I'm gonna eventually put an aluminum intake on the 350 olds, so might as well do heads... This is later on down the road of course lol. just got the thing running last week

The early 5, 6, and 7 heads are considered the best. 5 is supposed to be the best flowing, but the others are said to be pretty close.

so what year engines can I find #5 6 & 7 heads on??

I believe it is 69, 70, and 71 but not positive.

How much you want for them?? Sounds like a roadtrip to me!!

#5- 68 & 69
#6- 70
#7- 71 & 72
There was also a 7a (not 7A) head in 71 or 2 as well.

Just to clarify, 7 heads were 1971, 7A heads were 1972. Both have induction hardened valve seats. Don't confuse these with the 7A heads used on the 307s. The 1972 7A heads have an "A" that's smaller than the "7". On the 307 heads the "7" and "A" are the same size.

Good info!! Thanks guys.
