I hate the chain parts stores. There is a mom and pop place we deal with at work. All the guys are in their 40s and very knowlegable I usually buy parts from them because of the discount....I hate the advance by me.

Same here on mom and pop and local known auto parts stores. The upside to them is they're closer than the autozone and advance and they know what I'm looking for and know what they sell/are selling. Reputable places and actual owners who work at their place of business everyday and that are into cars. Downside is most of them close at 5 or 6 and then I have no choice but to drive an extra 20 minutes round trip to the commercial places.

Advance/autozone around me used to have "car" people who knew cars and parts but most just left and are replaced by people who needed a job and didnt care what they did.

It's so bad here in Phoenix I have given up trying to get parts from Auto Zone or O'Reilly's. I have started ordering every thing from Rock Auto .com.

I'm the same way....the fridge is covered in magnets with random cars LOL! If I absolutely have to buy a part locally, I look up the part number and take it there with me. The local mark-up is ridiculous compared to Rock Auto anyway, especially Delco parts. I've haven't had good luck with aftermarket parts on my Deville so I tend to stick to original equipment.

Another quick grammatical error I've seen about 5 times in last hour on CL while looking at engines- 350 SBC chevy. If that were correct, we'd be calling them "350 small block chevy chevys".

It is Wheels NOT rims!

Heres what I have to say to the Nit Picky Old Men about "motor vs. engine".
