What are the big block guys running as far as front lowering springs go? Im looking to lower mine about 2" and the only thing keeping me from ordering the springs now is the fact that im doing an all iron big block chevy swap this winter and I don't want to order 2" drop springs then lower it another 2" with the extra weight. Any ideas on what would lower the car roughly 2" but still provide decent handling with the extra weight? Would it be better to use stock replacement springs and shocks with drop spindles? Any help is greatly appreciated guys.

the BB is about 200 lbs heavier so it won't change the ride height that much, it'll be about the same as putting a 200 lbs person in your car now.

So just get stock replacement springs with drop spindles?

why not get a couple of 100lbs weight lifting plates and put them in the engine compartment. That'll give you an indication on how much the stock springs will drop. Just remember to remove the plates after or you'll be on here complaining about you car being slower..

if you do use the moog 5660 spring for every 1/4 coil cut the car drops 1" with a small block. It is a higher rated spring than the stock spring so the car should not drop more then an 1/8" with the BB. That is the spring I run and have played with it a bit

Ok I will try the 5660s and cut them. Coil overs are alittle over my budget right now

This is my current ride height with my BBC and aluminum heads, the front springs are Moog for my car (SBC with AC) and I have lowering springs in the rear.
The big block along with my accessories for it did drop my front end down and I also have stock spindles.

Do you have a Moog number? I want the front end a little lower than yours to match my 2" drop in the rear because after the 2" drop springs and shocks in the rear the front seems to stand up too much even with the original springs sagging. This is before I lowered the rear 2" so now its pretty uneven.
