i can find and buy these kind of parts in Iran easily with good price even stock type of MS and i could buy brand new stock MS ... but i wanted to buy something better and i didn't know it wont fit on the stock brake booster

anyway there are a few parts what i can not find here so Khan is helping me for buying some part to ship from canada to Iran directly (shiftercable-coilover shocks-TC cable)

and FYI there some parts in online shopping websites like summitracing what almost are made in china and i found some sources in china to buy ... for example i bought ministarter and headers from china online

thanks to you guys i 'll be glad if u say your names to call u with your names here

khan is a good man to help you out, he lives about 5 hours away from me. I'm in south western Ontario..

i ws thinking to use a longer push rod on the booster to use same big MS on y stock booster ... what u think guys?

"but i wanted to buy something better " I think you should stick with what fits and upgrade the MS to a larger bore within that series. Why make more head aches than you need? Try and find the largest bore you can that will fit the stock booster. That's what I did on my old '81 Malibu. It had a 7/8" bore that had very easy pedal effort, but the travel was so long your foot almost hit the floor. I switched to a cast iron '80 Firebird MS with a 1.125" bore that bolted right up. MUCH less pedal travel and the slight increase in effort was not even noticeable. I did a quick search and even a '78 Corvette only uses a 1-1/8" bore MS. I see that some Chevy C-20 Suburbans and pickups use a 1-1/4" to 1-1/2" bore MS, but do they fit the booster? Probably.

hey bonne, i had 1.125" on my stock 9" dual diaphragm booster before this story...

anyway for solving the problem i bought a 11" dual diaphragm brake booster and that 40mm will fit on 😀

"i had 1.125"" I was afraid you'd say that. Pontiac always used the best bigger brakes especially on cars like the GP. Hey, I'm glad you found a set up that fits! Don't be afraid of the increased pedal effort, you get used to it fast. Now, since you have all that extra MS volume, if you wanted you could upgrade to larger brakes all around. Just see what kind of brakes came on the car that your 40mm MS fits, and then you know how big you can go at the calipers and drums without sacrificing pedal travel. Good work Cyrus!

tnx bonne , regard to bigger caliper size i should say i don't have stock calipers on front now and i did bbody spindle+brake swap before and i could see these bbody calipers are alittle bigger in compare to stock one + bigger disks

So did the bigger calipers result in more pedal travel? Now I see why you needed a bigger MS!
