Read the Blazer Brake Done thread but it's so long. I skimmed through it and is a stock G body hose what we need?

If I cycle my front suspension and steering. The extreme travel makes the hose unhappy. The mock up is driver's side.

Off the caliper, I have it pointed straight down.

In the 2nd pic that is full bump or compression steering to the left. It bunches up the hose pretty good. Caliper to frame clearance is just about the hose diameter.
3rd pic is full droop steering to the right. Hose at caliper end has a pretty good bend and the middle is kind of tight.

Your issues are caused by the stock G Body brake hose frame bracket. If you had the Blazer frame bracket it would place your hose at the proper angle. In my opinion you should be using Blazer brake hose , and brake hose frame brackets. I have the frame brackets if you need them.

Aren’t the blazer hoses shorter? I seem to remember that when I did the swap 10 years ago.

I heard to use 1986 Corvette brake hoses which have a triangle head instead of a square head.

your suspension is at full drop, your hoses will look wrong. place a floor jack under the control arm and raise to full load and recheck.
my G wagon has the blazer front brakes, with stock hose brackets. when i tried the blazer bracket, they rubbed on the 275/40/17 tires at full lock. i didn't want to blow tire, so i switched back to stock brackets.

Hey Jam. Thanks for the idea. I tried the Blazer brackets and hoses. It looks alot better. What did you do about the brake line thread size difference? The Blazer has a bigger thread. Maybe 7/16 -24. The G body is 3/8 -24.

I don't believe shorter or longer is the issue. Its the angle at full lock. You could probably get away with it, like timo. Realistically, how often will the car be at full suspension travel and the wheel at full lock.
Since I do not have the springs installed and I have poly and heims. Its easy for me to check all 4 extremes.

Good point about the tire. Your 275 40 is wider than anything I will be running but I will check it with a wheel tomorrow.

I had the exact same experience too

Spoke too soon. I tried the Blazer hoses and brackets. Seemed to have potential so I ordered new ones to use. Problem is as soon as the hose is locked by the clip. No rotation is allowed. In this situation I cycle my caliper through ALL scenarios.
Full suspension droop, left and right. Full compression full left and right.

I could not find ANY position using G body brackets, Blazer brackets, G body hoses, Blazer hoses. I even bought steel braided hoses which do not need to be clocked by a notch. There was always one or more positions the hose was not happy.
During normal height or full droop. There is potential for it to be not too bad but I wanted a hose comfortable for EVERY position possible. Even though this car will probably never see full compression and full steering at the same time.

The solution I found to satisfy every possible scenario involved a 90 banjo connection off the caliper AND mounting the connection to the hard line in front of the caliper.
