if your worried about braking without power brakes you won't have any problems plus you'll have better control with the brakes

First goal is to attempt to take all the brake components off of the firewall... so looking for those options first... next, would be to mount the cylinder as close to the firewall as possible, hope this clears some things up as far as what I am looking to do.

almost like the ac delete... gonna be retro fitting ac if any... wanna do the same with the brakes, if possible (like the frame mounted setup) but trying to located prices on that stuff, the reverse 90 stuff is a decent price, but all that stufrf has to fit behind the dash, i wonder if i can get a reverse 90 and then do the electronic with it, so that it slims it down a bit behind the dash... then wold just have a remote mounted res for fluid, then last resort will be to just mount the master to the wall like in the last link i posted with the ABS product...

The problem with mounting it directly to the wall is that the wall is on an angle where the master would go, the booster compensates for that angle, plus the firewall is not a heavy gauge so with the cylinder directly on the wall braking will flex the wall. An adapter cures the angle and stiffens the firewall.

LOL... I wouldnt mount it directly to the wall... it would be with an adapter and appropriate master... like the one that comes in the kit from ABS... what I need to figure out is how to relocate all that stuff off of the wall entirely... if i cant do that to my liking then i will be properly mounting the master to the firewall

That is the part and they do have nice stuff. I used the addapter and it is a well done piece.
in case i cant move the entire setup of some sort off the firewall, what master are you using, what else do you have to do and can u post a quick pic of it, if you dont mind, that would actually solve the little clearance issue i was going to have, but still would love to just relocate all that stuff to somewhere else, safely and cleanly

The only cost efficient space saver I can think of is switching over to hydroboost. That doesn't really address what you're trying to do though.
I don't know why but that is halarious

Am I missing the punchline?

On a street car why wouldn't you want power brakes anyways??? Now that hydroboost set up looks clean. Not to hijack the thread but,G Body Vet, can you elaborate on this???? Subscribing🙂

is this question for me... if so, as ive stated in my posts, i do want power brakes and as far as the street car thing, youll have to stay tuned in the future to see where this car is going... if wasnt a question for me, then cool... 8)

also some cars need a brake setup that doesnt rely on vacuum... and I need the space

not to hijack the thread but I have some experience with manual brakes.... we don't use power brakes on the race car and the pressure you put on the brake pedal is only slightly heavier. We have stock callipers and rear brakes on the camaro and we also did it on a G body that had a weight of 3250 running at another track. When we took the booster out of the G body it was a 15 yo kid driving the car and he was on the small side. He said he didn't find any problems with the brakes. The advantage of non power brakes is you have a better feel of the brakes and you can modulate them much better. I'm planning on taking the booster out of my GP this winter and run manual 4 wheel disk.

do you have to pump them up every time to go to stop and is this practical for a car that will be driven on the street also? cause my son will only be able to drive on the track... but we will be taking it around and to shows etc too... he is pretty young to say the least and this will be his first car when he can legally drive (although, i will be getting him a bucket to drive everyday)... for now, i just want to enjoy the car and doing things with the family...

my overall goal is to get it track ready... start going to the track with the fam now... by the time he turns 16 in 5 years, he will be racing it himself, I have another project going for myself... for now, I am getting all the major stuff out of the way, etc.
