Broken upper control arm

while it's apart, degrease, power wash, wire wheel and prep and paint (por 15, rustoleum, search around) and undercoat (if you drive on gravel a lot) all the frame bits you can get to. Then new arms, BJs (heh), steering linkage, check out the brakes, etc. As others have said, these cars at their oldest are 40 years old, and at newest are 30. This was gonna happen sooner or later.

Similar thing happened to me outside my house with my old thunderbird. Balljoint ripped off the LCA on the driver's side. Thankfully I was only going about 10mph, and was outside my house.

That is not the kind of car you would think would have that kind of rust damage.

Thats the reason in certain areas to put the car on a lift .And check underneath. Remember it a Fisher body.

glad no one was hurt ,and hopefully damage is limited .
thank you for posting this , I am sure there with be many of us under our cars in the coming weeks checking this and other areas.

thats my 85 hopefully next time home it’ll have paint on it
