Personally speaking, if you have the rope seal in it, I don't think this would work. This stuff works on the rubber seals by swelling them up. I agree with fleming442 of just keeping an eye on level and dealing with it until you can deal with the 455. Soon you won't even remember the leak even being a problem when you're grinning from ear to ear KNOWING that the 455 was the right choice in the long run! 🙂

I'm just seeing the cart being put in front of the horse. There has been minimal effort put into tuning the 403 carb. A 455 isn't a magic bullet; get the 403 running right first, and throw that Edelbrock carb in the scrap yard.

I think the carb is set pretty good. After attaching the throttle cable better and adjusted the screws a tad, seems to run really well, throttle response feels better too. As for the 455, wasn't sure if I was going to sell it or keep it. Looks like I will keep it and build it when I get fed up with the 403

As a fair comparison make sure you run that too small shitty Edelbrock carb on the 455 when you get it built🙂. I say stroker 403 just to be different both have bottom end issues. The 455 has to be machined and built correctly. Otherwise it is knock, knock, whose there? 455 says, my bottom end, happens a lot. Lighter pistons and better rods go a long way but still leave the big heavy crank in the 455 to deal with.

The next carb I put in will be this one
