The big issue is removing the old rope seal. If it is a fairly fresh motor it should come out. They should have installed a neoprene seal to begin with. There are 3 styles that fit the SBO. The Ford 292, AMC I6 and the AMC 360. I have used the first two with success.Ya the 403 is in the car. But I have that 455 sitting in my garage. We thought it was a 442 motor and were thinking about putting it all together until we seen the "a". I was curious what the difference was and if the potential was the same regardless .... Just found out the rear main seal in the 403 is leaking, around 800 to fix...
