Been working on some stuff. Here's the first completed project from my sandblasting cabinet:

That's right, kids. Time for a coolant flush. I'll be swapping in a 180 degree thermostat while I'm at it, too.

The stainless fuel line from Inline Tube didn't fit and had to be bent. This old one will do the trick until I get that wacky electrocarb setup off.

I'll be sure to update you guys with more pics this weekend after I flush the coolant, get the new t-stat in place, change the oil and transmission fluid, wash the sucker, and drive it. May pressure wash the engine bay as well. We'll see.

I'm emissions exempt now so I'd like to swap in a non-CCC distributor and an Edelbrock 600 as well.

I wouldnt bother with that. The CCC system qjet and distributor is actually a very good system. The qjet will supply all the fuel that the 307 needs.

Just my 2 cents.

The car's 25 years old. Various sensors are giving up the ghost and I don't see any reason to replace them - most notably the MAP sensor, which does nothing useful save for turning the check engine light on after the brittle plastic housing for the sensor breaks.

Primitive electronics, coupled with the ensuing vacuum hose nightmare, attached to an ancient pushrod V8 designed decades before said system, does not constitute a "very good system."

I wouldn't run that thermostat if i were you. I had one of those when i first got mine running and it overheated a couple times. switched to a different brand same temp and no problem. Just a heads up.

Haha, I guess I should have said that when maintained properly, its a good system for what it is. Dont get me wrong. I yanked all my stuff when I stuck the 350 in. Im now with a 403 so there is no going back. lol

"When maintained properly?" The car is in mint condition with 87k on it, kid. it dosen't get much better than that. Plastic and rubber get brittle after a few decades of high-temp operation. If you've got $180 to piss away on a MAP sensor that really dosen't do much of anything, you're playing with the wrong car, my friend, unless you live in some barbaric hellhole that requires you to keep said system intact, in which case I offer my deepest condolences.
