Can I reuse these cam bearings?

Running them now. Granted, if I had the tools, know-how, or was taking the block to get ANY machine work done, they would have been replaced.

So wait, you mean to say you reused your cam bearings and your engine didn't explode into a million pieces on startup and you weren't filled with instant regret for not doing something that could've been done while you had it apart?

Wow, the way people talk around here, you must certainly be the exception, not the rule. Lol.

$165 is pretty cheap, but it's probably fixing a problem that doesnt exist.

The thing is if you take it apart and see a minor ring ridge in the cylinder and want to bore it, its another $250+ for parts and $250+ for labor.

I guess I would look at the calendar. It's essentially November, fun car season is done. If you want to change cam bearings I would do rods, mains, rings and gaskets. Now is the perfect time. It's not like you would get 3 months of driving out of it with the engine as it sits.

If you leave it as is it will likely work. BUT the engine is a pandora's box. You will find SOMETHING wrong with it but is it anything that will affect the driveability? Probably not.

If it was a sunny day on April I would drop it in as is. If it was a cloudy day in November I would still drop it in but second question myself about taking it apart.

As long as you don't gob up the bearings with the cam install, go for it. Because if it DOESN'T work, then it will surely let you know, and you've got all winter to do what you were likely leaning to do in the first place. But if it does work, you saved a buttload of time and you could use that time to put up the Christmas lights and stuff. And buy more cool parts for when spring gets here.
