In my younger days (late 80's early 90's) when I spent Saturday mornings junkyard hopping with my gaggle of friends searching for parts for the various projects like 68-69 Novas, my Cutlass and a 69' Chevelle, we came across a complete 67' Dodge Charger that was junked with new rear quarter panels installed, complete interior strewn about in the compartment and the front clip with hideaway headlights on the car. No wheels, tires but had an engine under the hood (can't recall what CID), just sitting on another vehicle. I'm not a big Mopar guy but that 67' still upsets me for passing it up. I like that fastback body more and more as time goes by, more so than the Coke bottle 68-70.

Only other that still haunts me is a 69' Cutlass convertible with a rebuilt engine, new rear quarter panels, complete front clip and steelies all around. The interior needed reassemble but was intact and nice with a new white rag top. I still have no idea why I didn't run back into the scale shack at the salvage yard and inquire about that car. Two of a long list of my regrets in life.

When i moved from Iowa to TX in '86, the first yard I went into had a very nice 69 Torino sportsroof. Complete car (less wheels/tires), bad 302. Who junks a car like that for a bad engine?

Surprise AZ.
Our cars are getting old, the supply of parts cars is starting to dry up. Here in Phoenix there might be 4 or 5 yards that would even have a G body. When they do, they are almost always stripped to the bone or sold whole as a parts car. I was very lucky to get a Right fender and the header for my 78 El Camino, When it got hit in 2007.

Pretty ok (but mostly bondo past the rear doors) freshly/recently painted metallic copper 71 malibu sedan. still had headers, weiand intake, and a carter (yes, carter) 4 barrel on it. Got the carb from it, next time I came in it was all smashed and upside down. one of the doors was bent straight on the ground a few yards away. This is kind of an in-between pic. The day I got the carb off it. View attachment 107559

Oh, here's that cutlass I mentioned in your other thread. Now that I look at it, maybe this was the best thing to happen to this car in a while, lol.

I've posted these before, but these photos are from December. This is a fraction of the old cars in this yard.

Hmmm, I own 5 acres where I have three buildings jammed with vehicles plus my Oldsmobile grave yard. I was really into dragging cars off hills, fields and gullies in the 90's early 2000s. My plan was to sell stuff after I retired. I've been retired 7 years this June. I sell very little. It's not worth the trouble. Everyone wants stuff for nothing. The 1976 Regency has 40K original miles. 455 still in it, plus 2 455s in the trunk. Maybe this year I'll get motivated, "sure I will."

I'd say the craziest thing I have seen in a yard is an early 70s split bumper Camaro rotting away. No engine, transmission, interior or rear end. Just Sitting on top of 4 steel wheels. It even had the hump and hole in the floor for a stick. No idea what year or model but I like to tell myself it was a 70 Z28 ;)

If I had half the stuff parted and crushed by my family I would NEVER need to work again. I'd start a list but I don't have that kind of time
