I going to say since 99% of replaced heater cores are aluminum that is NOT the problem.

UNLESS............

The valve goes to the drivers side port on the core which is the smaller tube

If your drivers side tube is the larger one you have a NON AC core in your AC equip car.

I can confirm I have the right core.

Who's left is the bigger hose on??

Looking at it left or sitting in the car left??

The bigger hose should be on the pass side of the car

Its gotta flow the correct way

If not you overheat and have leaks like he did yesterday.

It can't be a coincidence

Larger hose is on the passenger side, smaller is closer to the drivers side with thr valve. Coolant is indeed flowing in/out of the radiator. All hoses are warm when car is upto temp. The section of hose from the core to the valve remains cool until heat is switched on.

Would a faulty cap cause any of this? Its a cap I got from a junkyard, but it looked brand new. It was off a car with a 229 V6.
