Well, I finally got my car to run right today after nine long months of ownership, so I took it for its first real test drive. It went excellent, until the very end, when I pulled back into the driveway, to park it. All of a sudden, When I made a sharp turn in place, the car started squealing and shaking really bad. It sounded like it was coming from the serpentine belt. When the wheels where strait, the noise & shaking near stopped. My guess is a bad power steering pump? Any other possible ideas? Thanks.

Do you have a few pictures of the serpentine setup on your engine? I've never seen one on a N/A 3.8. Your probably low on power steering fluid.

I can post a pic tomorrow, it's too dark out now. Tge power steering pump has its own belt. I checked PSF, I'm only a very little bit low. Maybe bad fluid? The belt slipping is a definately a possibility. I never lost the power steering at anytime during all of this.

Mine did this. Chck your belt for problems and see how tight it is. Most likely its a loose belt.

Thanks, it's nice to know its probably something simple. Tomorrow, I'll put new fluid in and replace and retension the belt.

you can be almost sure its a loose belt

I checked the tension of the belt, and it really didn't seem very loose. I still haven't messed with it, so I haven't entirely ruled out the possibility of a worn/loose belt, but are there Any other possibilities? Keep in mind the car was shaking pretty bad.

Also remember, it happened all of a sudden.
