there really aren't different size q-jets. for the most part they are just setup differently so that the secondary valves open farther. (there are some rare exceptions to this--i think some of the cadillac QJ's were larger. but they are RARE) you can take one off of a V6 motor and rebuild/modify it for a big block V8.

According to my book book on Rochester Carburetors they came either 750cfm or 800cfm. But you can do all kinds of things to a Q-Jet for performance. I put an electric choke on mine too.
Did a lil extra reading and found out (like stated above) that you will need to change distributer..unhook some vacume stuff etc..if i wanted to get better if not great performance out of my q-jet since alot of ppl love them..what would i need to do? bc as u see my car is a 85 and from reading its cpt controlled..
i would highly reccommend you stay with the q jet
i have a stage 2 qjet from smi(sean murphy inductions) and i love it
electric choke functions and lots of hp and decent milage if you drive it right
cheers woody out 8)
There are plenty of little tweaks that can be done on a Qjet, but nothing is going to give you much if any noticable gain in performance over what you have right now. If you're looking to get more power out of your engine, you're looking in the wrong place with the carb.
What exactly do you have ( engine wise ) and what are you looking to acheive?
ive got a ccc roch 4barrel carb too and i was wondering the same thing. if i can tweak anything to get as much as possible out of it. its pretty good now but i hate to think im running on half the ponies!!
Semantics: carbs do not CREATE power, the ALLOW power. In other words a prpoerly setup carb will allow the engine propuce its max HP. If one checks out cliff ruggles book on modding qjets, there areare a ton of "tricks" to them.
CCC carbs are harder, and you need the computer to be tuned correctly also.
