Re: what kinda carb do I have?

there is a part number on the side of the carb, sometimes it starts with an R... and if you look up that number it'll give you the model # and the number for the kit

That sure looks like a Holley 4150 to me...
Blake442 is right that is a 4150--------I fat fingered and put 4160, I shopulda just edited my Original post, but some smart a$$ 🙂 would try and call me out..............You can get a rebuilt kit just about anywheres......... 8)

Re: what kinda carb do I have?

the sides have R-24 and P-46 stamped on them, and the secondary butterflys have 172.
after some research, these numbers indicate a Holley #4150, 750 double pumper (172 = 750cfm). I looked up the other numbers I found too, and it seems this carb has a mix-match of parts... everything from the metering blocks and bowls.

the actually ID number is supposed to be found on the choke horn, but that's no help in my case.
good job Holley for stamping Carb ID's on the most useless part of the carb :blam:

and according to summit, it looks like the kit is the same for 4150 and 4160s, so hard to mess it up!

Thanks for the help guys!

Re: what kinda carb do I have?

The rebuild kits for holley 4150 carbs makes no difference what carb unless you are changing jets. This is not usually done seeing how holley rebuild kits mostly consist of gaskets floats and check balls. The rebuild is cake.

Re: what kinda carb do I have?

I was just looking at rebuild kits on summit... There seems to be a few different kinds, with different prices, but all seem to have the same parts...

... which ones should I be looking at?

I know I should replace the gaskets, power valves, and floats... What else should I replace while I'm in there?
I've also learned how to tune this Holley, so I'll likely be getting a jetting kit to play with at the track.

so can anyone recommend a kit that covers all these essentials? My brother recommended their "Fast Kits", but these don't include floats. They do however, come with instructions, a catalog of part #'s, and a nice tray.

Thanks,
