I was some pics of a console out of a late model Monte Carlo put into a fourth gen MC over on montecarloss.com. I looked pretty sweet. do a search on it over there.

Where did you see that his car had a t5? A hand-brake would be awesome. I HATE my parking brake pedal.

I have a T-5 standard and using a 4th gen camaro center console with the handbrake assembly. It's not a difficult install as long as you have a plasma cutter and a welder. I cut part of the channel that goes over the hump and welded in a mount for the handbrake. It was kinda difficult to get the right forward and height location of the handbrake but with a bit of tweaking it fits real nice with the console. For the cable assemblies I fabricated a bracket 7.5" long with 1' tall sides at each end. The bracket wider on the side of the cables going to the wheels and narrower on the other side. I drilled holes in the front and back sides to install the cables and slots at the top of the holes to pass the wire cable through. I then welded the bracket using the cable from the handle to give me the location to mount the bracket. Then the wheel cables are installed and secured....The parking brake handle is self adjusting so you don't have to get under the car to adjust rusted bolts.

The console has a drink holder that is great if you're parked....don't hit the brakes with a coffee in the holder or take a corner hard. I'm going to fabricate a couple of drink holders since the one in the console is useless

Here is the one in my Monte Carlo. It is from a 2000 Grand Prix and the pic below it is from a 2000 Monte Carlo. I am trying to mod it to work with my Hurst Quarter stick.

Why dont you make a nice one outta stainless steel? Put your own cupholders and ashtry or coin tray. You could polish it or powder coat it. Could bolt right into the factory spot...Just make the rear half...or the whole thing whatever trips your trigger.

if i get bucket seats in my cutty can i take the center consol from a camero and use it? i found like 7 of them

X2.

If you make one, you can look online for poker table cup holders -- they come in stainless steel, get the 2.5" depth ones.

And sure, a console from a camaro would work -- the measuring tape is your friend 😉

All those center console ideas are great. I'm going to make my own in the future was thinking wood frame then fiberglass it. Then I could color it same as the interior. Mine will be easier cause I'm leaving the gear select on the Colume.

I am building mine. Here is a picture of my initial fabrication in wood.

Making it out of fiberglass and then covering it with upholstery.
