Hey all. 1978 Monte Carlo with 350ci crate motor. I changed spark plugs, cap, and rotor and now the car won't ignite.

Tested after changing sparks and it started fine. Changed cap and rotor, won't ignite just keeps turning.

I installed cap with all components (spring, brass thing, insulating ring, etc.). I made sure the cables were in firing order like 10x. Put them counter-clockwise just in case (saw it worked for somebody somewhere else), bumped them up one, bumped them back one, now they're back in order. I also have a new coil and it still tests fine. I took everything out several times and put it back in just in case something was a little off. I sprayed out the contacts underneath the rotor with contact cleaner and swabbed them just in case.

Please help and keep in mind that I'm a noob.

I would take the cap apart to make sure there isn't a problem with the wires and button.

Try putting the old cap back on. Maybe you have a defective cap. That would narrow it down for ya.
Is it made in China?
Seems the quality of Everything these days has gone to sh#t.

Cap is decent, made in Mexico as well. Changed all back to old. Still no spark from cap.

I feel like something got unplugged or one of the old wires broke. Car had defective old viper alarm system, could that be it? It turns over though...

How can I test the leads going to the coil?
