Changed weatherstripping, doors shut hard, HELP!

When I did my 70 I had the same problem, spray the seals with silicone spray and close doors. let sit for a week or so. worked fine for me
 
armor all works well too.
I always thought the Softseal seals were actually too soft.
There is another brand that is a little stiffer and feels more like a factory seal.
 
It's a bit ridiculous get so nit picky about seals. Not bashing anyone but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand that old cars are old and when replacing seals and such, things won't be the same as it was way back in 1985 or whenever. That's why unrestored low mile cars are $$$. You either buy a show shiner or you just work around the little things.

Sorry to have started any arguments over this subject. I was just looking to see if what I was experiencing was normal. I would love to have used GM parts but they are out of my budget for this item. The aftermarket keep the water out and that is their main job. This is a 'fun' car not a show car for me, functionality first and looks a close second. Thanks for the assistance.
