Changing front head panel for a 83...

The hardware (nuts, bolts, Jnuts) will be reusable from the original. However, none of the lamps, bezels, or grille will work on the newer style (obviously), and you'll need to source the headlamp buckets and adjusters.

Really, best bet is to buy what we call a "loaded header" from either a salvage yard, or from somebody parting a car....which should also have the harness available.

You might even be able to trade yours for the one you're after, most people swap the other direction.

Brian,
You're absolutely right. I was assuming he was swapping a complete header panel with lamps, bezels, grille, etc.

Headlights, bezels, grill, and turn signal lights are all different from the 80 front panel. Depending on your location I have a complete header panel from my 86 El Camino. The header is damaged (Bottom corner broken off) but has all the trim you would need. Also keep in mind the side marker light moved from the corner of the header to the fender between the wheelhouse and the header.
