Chevy 305 question - roller cam

Hello - I'm looking to build a 305 for fun for a future project. What year did they start making the 305 roller cam ready? I'm thinking it was 1988 or so. Thanks in advance.

I believe the general rule is that blocks with 1 piece rear main seal are roller cam compatible. There may be exceptions. That was a mid-'86 breakpoint for 350, so most '87-up.
