clifford alarm removal (headache)

Hey everybody I am in the process of removing a clifford alarm(matrix 12.5x?) from my 87 LS. I have removed much of the wiring but my car is not starting at all...I dont have any gauges,CEL,or engine turn over at all only courtesy lights work...I have been able to turn my car on before with no problems...just lately after putting on headers I went to turn the car on and the alarm started goin crazy(dash ticking,lights flashing,no horn already removed)...What do you guys think I should do... the wires tapped into were purple(I have already connected back together),red,grey,brown,pink... the only wires left connected are the grey wire (brown from alarm) and white wire that goes to the back and havnt found what it tapped into. I also tested the pink wire but no power with ignition turned all the way.





 
Good luck- alarms suck. I just blew my brains out over an '00 Jeep, works well now. I still can't get rid of '02 OnStar- it is worse than a computer virus. Any way, get yourself a factory wiring diagram. Just matching wire colors up may or may not work out, though GM's color code is pretty good. That purple "should" be the starter wire, the most popular anti-theft strategy . Courtesy lights are "hot all the time", so they should be working. Most everything else is fused and/or ignition switched. Check your ignition switch, the one farther down the steering column for hot 12 volts and verify all positions. Check all fuses too. Your last pic shows the wiper switch harness (purple, pink, green, white, grey) .
 
thanx bonne for that info...yea alarms do suck lol. I fused the purple wire back together (that should be hot when I hit the key right?) does anyone know what the grey wire is in the last pic(spliced with grey wire)?
 
I would be checking the wires attached to the starter that feed power to the car. The alarm has nothing to do with the car not starting. If you damaged the wired feeding power the alarm may have sensed a loss of current and turned the alarm on.
 
Also make sure all the grounds are still connected. When doing the headers you could have removed a ground or broken one with knowing it.
 
Grey is usually interior lights, like dash, gauges, radio, and is dim-able through the light switch. Check the red wires at the starter as Steve suggested, and at the ignition switch. Red should be hot-all-the-time, while orange should be hot-in-"run"-position, or, ignition switched. Orange with black stripe is also hot-all-the-time, like courtesy lights and power accessories like door locks.
 
thanx fellas for the info..I will check the starter today...I clipped the grey wire today, where can I tap that wire into or can I put it back to its original location?
 
all good guys she started up today....the problem was the cable from the positive cable coming from the battery, after I swapped it out she ranked rite up thanx for all your imput guys
 
That's cool- good job. Is that the grey wire crimped to the brown/pink wires? That's totally wrong. The pink is part of the wiper circuit and should be routed to wherever the other piece is. Follow the grey and see where it goes, probably the head light dimmer switch- or dash lights. I have no idea what the brown is.
 
ok thanx bonne....the brown wire is part of the alarm harness...the pink isnt spliced with anything(the pic is confusing)...I traced the grey wire to the back of the colomn (dont know where it goes...I think dash lights)where can I connect it to work properly?
