Do the dash lights work? Check at night time. If so, that's not it. Only other grey I'm seeing in that area is a wire that comes from the brake light switch, and becomes a green at a connector under the steering column. The green then goes up to the multi-function switch on the column for the cruise control. It is the wire that disengages the cruise when the brake is applied, not sure why they used it for the alarm.

WOW Steve- that's great! Do you scan all these wiring pages or are they on a site?

ok guys will check tonight if I have dash lights(I have my fingers crossed lol)... If not where should I route that wire?(I'm having a hard time with the diagram)..... U guys are the best thanx for all the info

Hey Steve-THANKS!! But all I can find on those for a grey wire is either the dash lights or wipers. Yet, my '86 Pontiac manual shows a grey wire going to the brake switch for the cruise control. Kind of narrows it down.

That diagram is for all models, pick out what you need for your car. It's always good to have a cold beer on hand so if you get confused take a break and enjoy the beer

Whatever happened with that wire? You guys need to post the results- or we can't sleep at night.....

yea man everything turned out alright.......the grey wire turned out to be part of the siren I traced it under the column to where the siren used to be.....All in all the end result was actually my starter wire to the battery was shot. I swapped it out and were in business now lol
