I have a few other actions shots, but they are not as big and clear, and these are my favorite sequence:

I'm waving at the camera guy at the radar trap and here's a screen shot from my video camera recording my speed:
168_mph.jpg

168 mph is the maximum we can go. 169 would have been a DQ. I had 4 GPS speedos and my rally computer all reading 168 so I figured I was safe to hold 168 through the traps.

The Windows blow out, off the tabs about 140 mph and you can tell how fast the car is going by the size of the gap. 168 mph is over 1" gap. The widows are adjusted to have about 2" of inward preload on them at rest and suck back in over the tabs below 120 mph.

Congratulations UNGN, I got my wish!. Had I scripted this, the result is what I intended. I couldn't just say "make that Fine 2+2 GP car of that month". But I could request an action picture & hope that you would post. Walla that part you took care of & the guys did their thing by voting for ya! So I got what I intended, your Fine Hot Rod as car of the month! So now don't forget to post in advance when & where you're going to make another blast. I'd love to be in attendance on one of your future blasts (runs). Enjoy your month in the sun, Exclusive is an understatement & ya know how I like Exclusive, Ole' Bob.

Say what??. Definitely a sad design from GM but that is cool! I missed what engine you have in that thing to achieve that speed. That's a good looking car.

Modern cars roll the windows down 3/8" when the door handle pulled and roll them up when the door is closed (and they lock into a channel). We may try to adapt something like that in the future.

Motor is a GMPP ZZ502 crate motor. 502 HP/567 lbft of torque. We put a lighter valve train on it, I pocket ported the heads and added an 850 DP, so it probably makes a little more HP than 502.

Our original license plate on it was 502+2... 502 2 and we had a sign painter paint a + sign between the 2's.

When the car reached 30 years, we could put "historic" 1986 Nebraska plates on it. One of the open road races de do is in Blaine county, NE (the Loup2Loup). Blaine County is "86" county, so we made a 1986 vintage "86 - P502" Historic plate for it.
