converter question

I picked up a 305 chevy motor on a parts swap. Anyway it has a converter bolted to it. My question is can I use this with my th350 trans. I dont really understand the lock up and non lock up deal. Any way of telling what converter it is? Heres a pic

You would have to know what transmission was behind the 305 before to know if it would work or not. However I would advise against using it, unless you know the history on it. You have no idea what is in it, like burnt fluid or shavings from a toasted transmission, etc.
