LT1 Caprice cam is about indistinguishable from a stock L31 cam which is 191/196 .420/.430" lift, 111 LSA 109 ICL. Ramjet/marine cam is 196/206 .440/.460" lift 109LSA and 106ICL. I put a Ramjet cam in my 350 Vortec powered truck with some 1.6:1 roller rockers and got a nice boost everywhere with no changes to the tune. TBI cam was insanely weak, GM crate replacement is 166/175 .382"/.402" lift, 112LSA 112 ICL. We put a Vortec cam in a friend's TBI truck motor and it ran like stock. I think the only thing to add to your list is a cam retainer plate. I ended up giving my friend all the crap for a roller conversion as I had multiple sets laying around.

You're on a path of spending a pile of money with no real needed gain for the application. And listening to your prereq's for disposing of the vehicle - you're about to piss away a small pile of Benjamin's.

With that in mind, saving a SBC roller block for a future build is GREAT idea. A truly budget 400hp SBC build starts with a good, unbored roller block. Topped with a set of stock style Vortec heads, with a cam similar to a Comp XE 268 roller and a set of long tubes = TIRE BURNER.

If that we're the case the world would've been deprived of the likes of the BBC burb thread. Where's the fun in that sort of world?

Do I need to do a search? I feel like this was before my time.
100+ pages to confirm what he was told about 5 times in the 1st page. It had all of the emotions from helpful, sad, disdain, comfort, sarcasm, hilarity, anger, diligence, wasteful, boastful, educational………and another 8-10 emotions.

‘Hey, the cam’s out of that’ …………….
