MONTE CARLO "COPO" Monte Carlo SS - Turbosaurus Build (Swinging Dick Racing's c*ck got bent... she bounced a little too high & hard, & came down awkwardly)

My setup runs a single 44mm wastegate with a suboptimal approach angle. It has zero trouble keeping this turbo under control.

Thanks! Yeah - it is mostly a potential for growth issue. If the cost difference between a 44mm and a 60mm is minor... well why not go larger, now - right? I really want to achieve symmetrical charge pipes and mount the turbo front and center (I'll kill the core support and run a more compact rad to achieve this). But, having the turbo offset, like yours, may be another option due to simplicity of packaging.

I would have defaulted to the 60mm if I had to buy it separately from the turbo. Mine came with it. I've been toying with upgrading the hairdryer. I would like to get some more power without more boost. Mine is riding the efficiency line and is technically making what these are rated for. S480 is looking good but I'd redo the hotside or pony up for the Holley cast turbo manifolds.

Not a good one. Did you happen to get the turbine outlet adapter with the turbo? They have a strange size that nothing really fits.

VS Racing has them.

Not yet. There seem to be a bunch on eBay for $30ish bucks that fit the 3.25" turbine outlet and the 4" OD v-band. VSRacing, DNA, and Speed Daddy need to come to grips that rebranding offshore doesn't command a 10-20% premium.

This unit came with branded literature that matched the eBay seller, and was really well packaged. Turbo spins freely and has no shaft play. I have no obvious disappointments at this point.
