Sooooo... under the guise of "trade tariffs" I convinced Natasha to let me buy the rest of the "raw materials" for the turbo kit. 50mm BOV, 60mm wastegate, flanges, 2.5" 304 S/S j-bends, GT45 specific v-band, 4" v-bands, etc are all on the way from the States (via China) and China.

I am looking forward to building this on the stand... and then making the car fit it. 😉
 
I think the China man made a mistake & printed "Made in USA" of it. 😉

True. But, they seem to have gotten everything else close enough.

Self-aligning stainless 4" v-bands showed up from China. Summit catalogue for scale.

Careful tightening the clamps. I got the same in 2-1/2" & 3". Built my pipes and when I was all done i tightened the clamps. 2 nuts seized and I ended up breaking the T bolt trying to remove the nuts. They weren't cross threaded because the T bolt had 1/2" of threads on it, never started the car etc. Still in mock up stage. Put some anti seize or something on the threads.
 
Heading State-side shortly on a parts run... and had some time to kill so I decided to open up the 60mm wastegate.

Cripes! Damn thing had two of the largest springs (yellow markings I added) I have ever seen inside. Must be good for 35+ psi on spring pressure alone out of the box. Glad I used a large clamp to slowly release the pressure to help prevent a trip to the dentist. Thankfully I still have a bunch of lighter springs left over from the VS Racing 44mm wastegate I installed on the TBSS so I'll be able to start small and creep up on the boost.

Not surprisingly it is full of metal chips and shavings - like they all are - but, it is workable. The diaphragm isn't damaged which is good news.

I am pretty sure I could drill and tap the lid to make this thing tunable with a washer attached to a SHCS. Meaning I wouldn't need to open it up to change springs again.

It has about 1" of travel at the poppet valve, which is plenty of flow for this application. Not accounting for the spring stacking up.
 
With all three springs in my vs44 wastegate it makes 14.5ish psi
The springs are similar to the three smaller ones in your pic. Takes a vise to put it together.

Is that WG pressure only?

The single spring in the TBSS' 44mm goes to 12psi with the top port pressurized.
