Since we are on the topic of functional finishes...

Dropped the truck bed coating in a bucket of hot water to softed up the solids... acts like Exlax for thick aerosols.

While that was cooking I scuffed the floor with a red Scotchbrite pad, knocked the scale off with a steel wire brush, gave it a final wipe down with brake cleaner.

With the windows open and garage door cracked, and the exhaust fan on high under the car - I went to town and ended up with this:

And remember your PPE kids!

I used to laugh about PPE. I now have a fancy vapor mask too. Part of somewhat growing up I think.

On a cooler note. Mike you wanted to see this.

It finally came in today. Super impressed with it. Let me know if you wanna more pics. Even the blade bolts are staked. Very good quality.

Looks near identical to the Warr 92 I just picked up (other than all that fancy script on yours). The new Warr unit looks like they reamed the holes on the IAC and throttle linkage due to some fitment issues.

Engine mounts are in. Sooooo glad I drilled those holes! Entire job took minutes.

Tearing the engine down to the long block now for insertion... but first we must add the LS6 cam!

Got home from my oldest's second Christmas pageant and tore into this old heap.

In it goes.

And buttoned up.

I am changing the name of this engine to "The Dog's Breakfast" because my buddy gave the cam to me in a plastic dog food bag... it came out with dog food on it. The baby LS6 is complete.

Up, up, and away!

And touchdown!

Bad news is the turbo hot side does not fit with the stock steering - not a surprising situation since I intended to put a TRZ manual rack in this thing from the outset.

Going to see what Santa has leftover in the New Year...

Those silver pink valvecovers look FABULOUS!!!!
