OK let me know I am hoping to get a set here soon.

If I don't hear anything by tomorrow when I get back in town, they're all yours. I was asking $30 shipped. All rust has been removed and they've gotten a few coats of black paint. I planned on using them on my car so I wanted them to be pretty

Ok let me know if he dont get them you got yourself a deal!

Sounds good I'll let you know.

I might be wrong but aren't there two different types of curved ones? I've seen some that look bent in the middle not just one long bend.

78-81 Montes had those i believe but they go from the cowl to the core support.. Those are longer then the ones mentioned on the post. My GP's all had the curved ones and most of the straight one i have pulled are from Cutlasse's.

Yup, dont know when they changed, but the mid-late 80's olds' had the thin wimpy ones. Late 70's had straight bars.

I had a set of curved "GP Bars" that i smashed the fender end down with a vice and hammer and drilled a new hole to mount in the cutlass location. just to i didnt have to hack up the inner fender.

Now i have straight bars. made them myself.

You know, I didn't notice a difference with these bars installed vs not installed. I'm not sure they are worth installing, even for the extra 10lbs over the nose. What difference do these bars actually make?

Incidentally, my monte (83 LS) had no provisions in the fenders for either bar. I had to drill holes in the fender myself. I know the car was partially restored, maybe the fenders are aftermarket...?

My Lemans has the strait bars but I don`t have a pic with the v6 to post. My local yard has about a dozen gbodies left of different years 78-87 and all of the ones that have the bars still in them are strait, not a curved one in the bunch.

Grab them. I'm sure you can resell them. If you do, take the hardware (bolts and speed nuts) too.

I plan to. The yard is closed for another 2-3 weeks because the owner is recovering from surgery. As soon as he re-opens I will pick-up all that I can. He also has several sets of jounce bars and radiator crossbraces just itching to find new homes instead of rusting into the ground.
