Hello everyone, i bought a 2004R transmission and im currently crossmember shopping im a little curious of knowing if i need a frame extension on my 78 Pontiac im looking at G-Forces crossmember's; Does anyone have any input or needed the extension for there 78 for installation of 2004R?

I have the extension but I've yet to install it. Pre '83 or '84 cars didn't have frame provisions for the 200-4R crossmember so you'll need it. The extension comes with hardware and it's only a matter or using a template and drilling a few holes.

I bought a G-Force crossmember for my 78 Lemans th400-swap, and the kit included a bolt-on extension. All I had to do was to drill 2 extra holes into the frame. the tricky part was to apply the correct torque to the bolts and lugs, since I did not have a service lift

Here's a pic of the kit (unfortunately I didn't put the bolts/lugs in front of the kit, but it was all there)
