Turning the pressure down would just result in it not removing anything at all.

Velocity is the key stripping any substrate. Turn the pressure down too low, and you might as well be throwing media or sand at it with your bare hands.

Plastic, especially ABS, it just too fragile to handle blasting.

A chemical bath would be the only way I can envision being able to strip the plating.

Anybody know what the professionals do that replate the stuff?
