When I put the aluminum hood on the Olds I painted the underside with basecoat clear. Previous to that I was always replacing the felt because the crappy R4 AC Compressor was leaking. If I had a turbo Buick though I would want the correct pad on it. That turbo 6 logo is way cool and makes the car unique.
I sprayed bedliner on the underside of my Regals steel hood after I modified it for the scoop and hood tach.
I did buy a hood insulation for it but haven't installed it. I kind of like how it looks now.
I should clarify. The underhood pad I was talking about above was GM p/n 22506796 and was for a G47 Olds Cutlass 81-88. All Cutlass 2 doors had underhood insulation from the factory.
The Turbo 6 cars I believe had a finished liner similar to the Montes I've seen. Not fibery looking. You know what I'm talking about. It looks good, but you already know it's 'spensive!!!

I also have the matching one for the trunk. I am lucky to have this. There were only 2 ever made. I did have to drill a couple holes to install this. It has a foam liner on the back side, and does not rattle.
hello peoples: I've talked about this on other sites and with co-workers. Engine hood insulator pads. Why are they there? heat, noise, protection of hood paint. I don't know but what do youz think?

The real problem is the vin on the spid... makes it harder to take someone for a ride in the nighttime rain and dump them in the Country as a warning. Once they have that evidence you're pigeonholed into needing to go all the way in disposing of them.
I guess that's why they only made 2 of them? Not that much demand for live release.
