I ran the numbers on my motor and came up with these:
Behind the D. side head: 3970010
In front of the P. side head, behind the alternator: 751308665 and K(1 or l was faded pretty bad)211CMJ
Plus the oilpan is painted blue, which a buddy tells me they used on some of the older 'vettes Camaros and chevelles.
I'm pretty sure I got a 327 8)
Are these motors better then a 350? And how hard are they to build up?

This is what I came up with.

CMJ 1974 350

Not a 327 but I like cubic inches anyway, and you still have one of the good casting 350's.

Lots of the 327 hype comes from the old school gear heads. The 62-67's are desirable because they had forged cranks and smaller main journals, which equals nice revving ability. The 68-69 327's had large journals, but same size bores as the 350's.
It boils down to whether you wanna rev to 7K or have a little more torque. The early blocks were also designed with a breather hole in the rear of the block as opposed to having the valve cover PCV outlet. Easily fixed with a freeze plug. I'm going by memory so if I'm off I apologize.
