I don't have room for any more cars. But I still have one project I would like to do .
When I was in high school I had a 1979 Yamaha RD 400 Daytona Special .
I would like to find another one and do a total restoration on it. 8)

Paul,
Those were pretty cool bikes. A friend of mine in Sweden had one. I'm not sure if he still has it. If I'm not mistaken it's a 2 stroke.

Yep 2 stroke 400 CC revs like a chain saw. Fastest bike on the road in 79 . The first to have alloy wheels.
Mine would pull the ft wheel off the ground in 4th gear. 8)

Back in the day I had a friend with a Kawasaki 400 3-cyl 2 stroke and another with a Kawasaki 750 3-cyl 2-stroke.
The 750 was called a widow maker. I could understand why. That was a wickedly fast machine. It was difficult to keep the front wheel on the ground.
You're right BTW about the Yamaha 400 RD being the first bike with alloy wheels. I remember when it was first featured.
