you add capacity by adding more windings.
pros: more power if needed obviously , lower percentage load=less strain=longer life
cons: more expensive, takes more power to turn (negligible)

ah i see. i cant really seem to find many local rebuilders. i dont know...theres a 63 amp one for under 40 bucks from autozone. im thinkin about it.

Thanks. I'm gonna check those when I get home. None of them look super close but if its that common for people to turn them into 100 amp and they are cheap it could be worth the drive.
