oh. I ordered a "new" circuit board for the tach from eBay. It *should* convert the V6 tach to a V8 tach. We'll see how that goes. Maybe while that's out I figure out the wiring on the oil/temp gauges and get them working, too.

put the Edelbrock 8031 bracket on and removed the home-made bracket was on there. Will update this post w/ pix tomorrow (was dark by the time I finished) when I adjust the kickdown cable and hopefully it all works right. As it is the cable is jacked up and won't let the throttle move without serious force. Not driveable with it hooked up.

Getting all the little bugs out is kind of fun in my book. Instant gratification!

Kickdown works. I had toyed with the idea of letting my kid who's just getting his permit drive this for a while.... but NO. GOD NO. This thing is dangerous. :twisted::twisted::twisted: Especially for a newb driver. But fun.

But....

When I got back from toying with it :twisted:, turned it off, popped the hood. Wait, what's that noise?

Pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip. Nooooooooooooo.

Bubbles in the overflow tank.
!#$^@#%&@#$%#^@%&@$%&^@$%& :puke::rant::rant:

So that probably happened. Not sure if that just happened, or if it had been starting for a while. Yeah it could just be the cap but I'm not holding my breath, because that's how I roll.

:wtf:

I had to take one of the return springs off because two was just making the pedal way too hard.

o_O I wonder if when I pulled those two intake bolts off to put that bracket on, if it didn't cause a tiny intake leak. Thought I cranked those b*tches back down but maybe I need to get the torque wrench after them..... hm.....:eek:

Can you put the TV cable into the lower hole mount so it is not sitting at that awkward angle?

I went back out after it cooled down and retorqued those two bolts. I couldn’t get the cable to latch in that spot before, but I figured I’d try again and it actually went in. Probably needs re adjusting again but it still works.

Reseated the rad cap for fun. Took her down the highway to temp and back again, parked. No bubbles. Either the problem was the intake, the cap, or the gasket is intermittent. Will keep an eye on it and see how it goes.

The throttle still feels hard to get “started” if that makes sense. Have to push hard to get it to pop. That needs adjusting if possible. But I’m crossing the kick down off the list.

Forgot pic.
